I first used the Internet in 1988. I downloaded Mosaic from the NCSA before even Netscape existed. I spent £1,000s at bookpages.co.uk before it was bought by Amazon. I was among the first users of eBay. I bought my first digital camera in 1997. I had an mp3 player years before the iPod was "invented". I listen to Podcasts in my car. But I cannot for the life of me understand the appeal of Secondlife. I tried it once - and discovered a mixture of sexual desperation and physical lack of coordination unrecognisable since my teenage years. Surely the point of all this stuff is to improve your real life?
